Children's Book & Felt Food {Fun Gift!}

Many of you know that I have a major addiction to children's books! I love to collect and read them. I think I enjoy them more than the kids do! Anyways, I found this amazing idea for a gift at Lu Bird Baby {she also sells them if you don't want to make your own, here}.

Numeroff's books are so adorable. You could do this one above with chocolate chip cookies,
or a pancake with "If You Give a Pig a Pancake",
or a hot dog with "The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog" by Mo Willems,
or felt pizza with "Pizza Pat" by Rita Gelman,
or...somebody STOP ME!
For a long list of felt food tutes go, here.

  3. Lately I've been running across felt food everywhere. My daughter is a little young but I think I'm going to start making it now and just put it away until she is ready for it. Thanks for posting!

    I love Young Adult literature, too. I finished the Goose Girl series by Shannon Hale and really enjoyed them!

  5. How cute! I commented to hubby one day that my fave book was The Cat In the Hat and I'd always go to the toy dept. and sit on the floor in front of the books and read the Cat in the Hat over and over while waiting on my mom. (the "olden days" LOL) He bought me the book last month! LOL

  6. Don't forget Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs! I made some felt food and gave it to a 5-year-old for his birthday with a copy of the book. It was a big hit.

  9. LOVE those! As a former elementary school teacher turned stay-at-home momma, I love books! FYI - Kohls has several of the Numeroff books for $5 right now as part of their Kohls Cares for Kids campaign. Such a good deal for great books! :)

  11. That is a fabulous idea! There is a cute new chapter book series out called the "Farm Series," by Amanda Lorenzo that is absolutely adorable- cute stories and awesome illustrations. My kids and I just finished the first book titled, "Runt Farm: Under New Management," and can't wait to get the next book in the series, "Runt Farm: Beatrice and Blossom." I'd love to use your idea to give them out to nieces and nephews and friends as Christmas presents. I wonder what I could put with them?? I'll think of something. Thanks for the great tip!
