{Follow us on our fabulous journey with Home Advisor in part one and part two if you missed it.}
Few things excite me more than watching our new deck come together!
The #1 question you might ask before starting a home improvement project is probably…
How Much Will My Project Cost?
Home Advisor has you covered in this area, too.
Before we chose to remodel our deck we played with numbers using the Home Advisor Cost Guide…
…you select the project you are interested in, a minimum and maximum cost guide appears, and the average cost.
You know what?! They were dead on.
Broderick Construction {the wonderful contractor that we were matched with} quoted us $5,700. I was so surprised how close it was to the cost guide.
Have a project you have in mind?? Go play with the cost guide and see how much you need to save. It’s actually fun, too!
Picking out colors
After looking at many Trex deck colors the winner was…
Woodland Brown!
We were hoping it would look great against the house and we couldn’t be happier. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Trex decking it is a PVC composite with a textured surface that gives the appearance of a wooden deck without all of the upkeep!
As for the railing…
…we decided to go with a classic white. It matches our vinyl fence and is looks great with the brown!
The final post in the series will be this month and I can’t wait to show you the before and after pictures…huge transformation!!
Meanwhile, visit Home Advisor and get those questions answered about your next home improvement project!
