Today we are starting things off with a quilt challenge sponsored by PatternJam.com.
Kari and I went to the Pattern Jam website and spent well over an hour deciding which quilt we would want to make and what fabric we would want to use. The great thing about PatternJam.com is you can plug in your fabric selection to the quilt pattern you choose to see if it will all look good together. This is especially helpful for those of us who have a tough time combining fabric designs. After playing with PatternJam.com for a while, the two of us agreed to make a quilt called WhirliGig. It’s a darling pinwheel quilt! Then we secretly choose our fabric making sure the other sister was clueless as to the color and style each other chose. This was kind of nerve-wracking because we have a tendency to choose the same styles and colors of clothing. We were certain we had selected the same fabric design for this quilt challenge.
In the end, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we had chosen very different styles of fabric. It’s remarkable how different these quilts look even though we used the same quilt pattern.
Kari chose Riley Blake Designs Wiltshire Daisy Collection by Carina Gardner to make her quilt.
Becky’s quilt was made with Art Gallery Fabrics MAKER collection.
A HUGE thanks to our sponsor, Pattern Jam. You can get EVERYTHING we used to create these quilts there.
