For our Olympic Party, I wanted to make something to “open” the games. I decided on make a paper banner adorned with Olympic Rings Artwork the kids could help create.
DIY OLYMPIC RINGS ART
- Supply List
- 5 colors of acrylic paint {red, black, blue, green, yellow}
- 5 plastic cups
- paper plates for the paint
- 2 yards of butcher paper
Getting Started
We put all the paint on one piece of 12 x 12 chipboard, but that wasn’t the easiest way. I would suggest using paper plates and put one color on each plate. Dip the rim of your cup in the paint color you want and start stamping.
We did one color at a time. All blue cirlces first, then black, then red, etc.
My little helper didn’t like the empty spots so he grabbed a giant marker and wrote “Olympics 2012”…with a little spelling help. I love the little kid hand writing!
Once the banner was dry I took a big foam brush and some dark paint and wrote “Welcome.”
Let the games begin!

This is a real great idea!!! I wish I would have landed here before the Olympics began. It was the first Olympics for my 2 Grandsons. They absolutely loved it & when I just should them this site, the were thrilled.
We are about to start planning out some of these crafts & things. Many thanks for this!
