Wood Chair Makeover

Remember my front porch makeover?  I have to tell you about that cool over-sized bench I scored.  

Kari was driving home and she saw a bench/chair like this on the road holding a yard sale sign.  She pulled over and asked the woman who was having a yard sale how much it was.  This cute little woman said she makes them out of reclaimed wood.  Kari called me and told me all about it so I ran up there to place my order.  So when I got my awesome chair I was surprised at how splintery it was, but it was reclaimed old wood afterall.  So I sanded it down and painted it white.  Then I added a dark stain on top of the white and then wiped it off…that way it created more dimension and didn’t look so bright.
I love the end result.  I am going to find some fall garland, pumpkins and hay bales to doll it up.  What do you think?
