When working alone I find it relaxing. When crafting with friends, it brings us closer together. In fact, Thursday we head off for our girls crafting weekend in Cape May NJ. 7 women ranging in age from 35 to 56 just crafting, laughing, eating and enjoying one another’s company. We lost our 8th member last year but she is always with us in spirit.

I love to create and make stuff. One way I show that I like to make things is: I have an Etsy shop in which I sell jewelry and and other fun and bright stuff! I also like to make people gifts for there birthday rather than buying something for them. Crafting something you love is rewarding and makes you feel good! Keep Calm and Craft ON is what I say!

I love to create because I can knock off expensive things that I can’t justify spending a ton of money on, while putting my own personal spin on something, Plus, when I’m being creative, I can forget all the demands of everyday life.

I love to create because it feels like it connects me to the past somehow because I am working with my hands to create something special. It does not happen a lot in this modern time since it is so easy to buy something cheap. It is no longer a necessity to make it yourself. This just makes it that much more special.

I LOVE to take things and turn them into something else!! A silverware tray for a jewelry organizer! Scrap wood into a scarf rack! An old bicycle rim became the center for our wind chime. Its fun, and it keeps the childrens imagination flowing! Not to mention, it puts good use to otherwise “junk” laying around the house 🙂 A little paint (or nail polish) can go a long ways with an active imagination and a few helpful supplies.
