How to Make Fall Candle Wraps

how to make beautiful fall candle wraps by the country chic cottage

My name is Angie and I blog over at The Country Chic Cottage.  I am here today to show you some super simple Fall Candle Wraps to add to your home’s decor.  I made some punched candle wraps over at Crafts Unleashed then decided to put a fall spin on them.  These are perfect for a table centerpiece or just to decorate your mantle.

You will need the following:

  • Wax candle sleeves and battery operated tea lights
  • Card stock or scrapbook paper in fall colors
  • Spray adhesive
  • Cricut, Silhouette, craft punches, or a craft knife.

That is it!  For this fall version, I used my Silhouette and stock images from their online store to create fall themed wraps.  You could also use a Cricut along with some fall themed cartridges.  After your sheets are prepared, spray generously with spray adhesive (please spray outside).

I tested many methods for adhering these to the candles.  The more intricate your design, the harder it is to get all of the small pieces to adhere.  On some designs, I could wrap and use double stick tape and it would be fine.  On others, this simply did not work as portions of the design would still stick up from the candle instead of laying down.  I developed the spray adhesive method to work with all wrap designs.  Lay your candle sleeve on top of the candle wrap.

Then roll your candle.  As you roll, the wrap will adhere to the candle.

Then just sit back and enjoy your gorgeous new candles!

But what do they look like with the candles on?  Here is a shot for you with dimmed lights and candles on.

I love how the candle light peeks through the cut out areas.  Plus with the battery operated tea lights there is no fire risk.  The use of the wax sleeves, however, still gives the illusion of using real candles.

My personal favorite part of this project is the fact that it can be adapted to so many different seasons.  I could see wrapped candles on a mantle year round with different wraps to show them off!

Please visit me at my blog The Country Chic Cottage or over at the Crafts Unleashed blog were I work on the design team.  Thanks for having me Kari!
