Hi U Create Readers!
I’m Anne Weil from Flax & Twine. I am so happy to be here today to share my ornament with you. This ornament is made with finger knitting which is a great craft to do with your kids and a skill that will keep them busy all through the holidays. Trust me, once your kids start finger knitting, they won’t be able to stop! Not to mention, they can make great gifts for all their loved ones too, including lots of these little wreaths…
I love making ornaments with my kids that look fabulous on the tree or atop a gift. This ornament is made by giving a finger knit strand of twine some structure by wire running through it.
Materials:
Twine
Yarn scrap
Gold floral wire, gauge 22
Wire cutter
Twist the wire into a loop to be able to thread easily through the finger knitting.
Wrap the wire around itself to form a circle, such that you like the look of the finger knitting when stretched to the top. Cut the ends of the wire and wrap the little ends as close to the circle as you can.
Tie the ends of the finger knitting to bring them together at the top of the wreath. Make a loop with the extra twine to have something to hang the wreath from.
Thread a piece of scrap yarn through the finger knitting. Tie a bow by crossing the loops–this with give you a bow with the tails facing down. VOILA!
A beautiful ornament you can keep or give away.
