I am in love with gold this holiday season! I whipped up an easy gold ombre bead ornament that incorporates the ombre and gold trends.
Before we get started, let me introduce myself real quick! My name is Linda and I blog at Craftaholics Anonymous®. I am a bit of a craft addict and share all kinds of craft tutorials! I made this ombre bead ornament for my Gold Ombre Christmas Tree. Making ornaments is always fun…
How to make an Ombre Bead Ornament
Supplies:
- needle nose pliers
- wood beads in sizes: 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 1″
- large wire ornament hooks
- metallic gold paint
- white paint
- foam brush
Mix your paint to the ratios above and paint your wood beads with the white bead the smallest and the solid gold the largest. I did 2-3 coats of paint. Allow to dry thoroughly.
Using your needle nose pliers, straighten the ornament hooks and then create a loop or hook at one end.
Thread the wire through the beads starting with the largest.
Then use your pliers again to loop the top of the wire around to create another small loop. You can then use ribbon or another wire hook to hang on your Christmas tree!
Another fun idea would be to add ribbon or trim at the top.
It was so fun to be here on today! Kari is awesome, isn’t she?! I love it when I get to see her in real life. She’s such a sweetie.
