Step 1: Prepare Your Surface
Lay down butcher paper or a drop cloth. Tape your printable image (use cardstock) to the table to prevent sliding.
Step 2: Paint Mom’s Hand First
Using a foam brush, apply an even coat of paint to mom’s hand (blush used, black used below). Press firmly in the center of the page. Let dry 5–10 minutes before layering children’s prints.
Tip: Don’t overload the paint — too much creates smudging.
Step 3: Add Child Handprint
Paint child’s hand. Slightly overlap onto mom’s hand for that connected look. Press gently and lift straight up. Allow to dry.
Step 4 (optional): Add Additional Child’s Handprint
Use a cream or lighter neutral for contrast. Slight overlap creates visual depth and a cohesive grouping. Let dry completely before framing.
