Wait until you see what we did with Mod Podge and aluminum foil!

Supply List:
-Monogram Letter
-Aluminum Foil
-Mod Podge (I used Glossy)
-Paint Brush
Instructions:
1. Crinkle various sizes of foil. Smooth them out and lay them in a pile.
2. Paint on a generous layer of Mod Podge.
3. Tear the size of foil you need from your crinkled piles and lay it on the Mod Podged section. {NOTE: The thinner you make the pieces the easier they are to wrap around the curves of the letter. With the straight parts of the letter it doesn’t really matter how fat or thin they are.}
4. Paint a layer of Mod Podge on top of the foil and smooth with your finger.

It’s best to work in small sections and work your way around the letter. Since mine was going to hang on the wall, I didn’t worry much about covering the back on the monogram with the foil.

I love the texture the foil creates along with giving the metallic look I wanted! I am thrilled with how it turned out. You have to try this technique on your next wood project. You will be blown away by how cool it looks.

I love this! a few years ago I did the same thing to a dresser (http://www.sugarbeecrafts.com/2011/03/foil-dresser.html) – – but now I’ll have to do a letter – love it!
Serious? I’ve never heard of such a thing! Off to check out your dresser Mandy!

One of these would fit right into my new grandchild’s nursery!
Great, Two years back I decoupage my jewelry box with this technique & its still looking good. Metallic look seems fine!
I love it! gonna try it on something myself!
Love this idea, going to try it with potato foil, silver on one side, gold on the other, did a bedroom wall in the silver one year, turns out great & 8 years later still looking good.
love this idea so am going to try it on some cardboard letters for my wedding – don’t have mod podge but I do have PVA glue so hoping for a similar result!
copper metallic spray paint over the aluminum foil is a pretty effect, too : )
