DIY Mini Picture Frame Christmas Ornament

Mini Frame Ornament Tutorial at u-createcrafts.com

I am so glad the Christmas season is here.  Seriously, it’s my very favorite time to DIY!  Check out these easy and adorable DIY Mini Picture Frame Christmas ornaments I made with mini picture frames, scrapbook paper, and spray paint (of course).

Supply List:

Mini Picture Frames (Michaels)

Painters Tape

Silver spray paint (Rust-oleum Mirror Effect)

6×6 Christmas Paper Pack (Joyous by My Minds Eye)

Red ribbon

Glue Dots

Bright Mini Frames

Step 1: Tape it off (Totally just sung that like Taylor Swift)

Tape off the front of the frames.  These Michaels frames have plastic where the glass would be in a big frame…and the plastic doesn’t come out, so I taped it off.

Silver painted Christmas frames

Step 2:  Spray paint the frames.

Paint with silver spray paint  (or whatever color you want).  I normally use Valspar, but I had some Mirror Effect Rust-oleum handy so I used that.  Rust-oleum is my runner up spray paint and it does a good job.

MME 6x6 Scrapbook Paper

Step 3:  Pick the paper.

I love to use 6×6 paper pads for small projects because the designs are small.  You could use a 12×12 piece of scrapbook paper but the designs will be bigger.  Make sense?  This Joyous paper pad by My Mind’s Eye is perfect!  Plus, I am a little obsessed with vintage Santa Claus.

Step 4:  Cut the Paper

Cut the paper to size and fill your frames!  You can even stop here and display these framed holiday designs on your mantle or give them with a goodie as a neighbor gift.

Add Ribbon to frames to make ornaments

Step 5: Apply the Ribbon

Cut some curling ribbon and make a loop. Secure it to the back with a couple of glue dots!  Hang on the tree and you’re done!
