Easy Paper Heart Garland Tutorial

Easy Paper Heart Garland for Valentine’s Day

Are you ready for one of the simplest, but beautiful Valentine craft ideas? This paper heart garland looks festive and cute and it’s truly one of the easiest Valentine decorations you can make.

No machines. No fancy tools. Just paper, scissors, and a little creativity.

Supplies

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper (neutral colors used but fun with traditional Vday colors, too)
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick or tape
  • String or twine
  • Pencil (optional)

If you don’t have cardstock, regular printer paper works just fine.

Step 1: Cut Out Hearts

Fold your paper in half and draw half a heart shape along the fold. Cut it out and open — you’ll have a perfectly symmetrical heart.

Don’t worry if they’re not identical. Handmade charm is part of the fun.

Step 2: Create Your Pattern

Lay out your hearts in a pattern on the table before attaching them. Alternate colors or keep them all the same color.

Step 3: Attach to String

Flip the hearts over and glue or tape the string across the back. Leave a little extra string on both ends for hanging.

Step 4: Hang and Enjoy

Hang your garland across a mantel, doorway, or wall. It instantly adds Valentine charm without feeling overdone.

Beginner Tip:

If your hearts curl slightly, gently press them under a book for a few minutes.

This is such a satisfying craft for ALL skill levels!

Happy Creating!
