You are very lucky that your area still does Super Saturdays. Our area cut them out about 4 years ago and will not allow us to hold them. It has to be separate “none church” activity at a home, which is difficult to accommodate very may people.

I think it goes by RS President in each ward, stake. Our RS Pres in our ward said no, absolutely not. We offered it as “Sisters / Friends” day out with nothing to do with RS. It was humorous because many ladies couldn’t wrap their minds around that it wasn’t RS and didn’t come? we had a small turn out but the ladies who came (35 or so with friends etc) needed to be there and we had a wonderful time connecting with each other. We ran it by the BIshop before using our building and he was excited for us to do it. I really think that Wards that don’t support a Craft Activity of some sort are missing out on a great service to our sisters. As a Primary president… I LOVE the time with my sisters and I miss it. Sitting in a “lesson” doesn’t give me the time I need to relax and enjoy.

I’m the RS Pres in my ward and we are still allowed by the bishop and the stake pres to host one a year. We offered all ranges of prices plus we offer 4 free demo classes. Our stake and ward leaders think this is a great missionary opportunity and a great way for sisters to get to know one another since that can’t happen at church on Sundays. Casual way to chat while beautifying your home, learning to skills and making friends. I think it’s sad most wards and stakes aren’t allowed. We always get an awesome turn out.

I love Super Saturday activities [when my ward decides to do them each fall] – they are so much fun! And these are awesome ideas – thanks for rounding them up and sharing!
